Art Appreciation

Convener : Mary Macey
The well attended Art Appreciation meetings were
enjoyed and proved to be interesting. Works of British Artists
from 1930 - early 1980 were studied and illustrated reproductions
shown on screen supported the talks. Volunteers from the Group,
after considerable research, talked about each chosen artist. To
name but a few of the artists considered: Lowry, Paul Nash, Graham
Sutherland, John Piper, Lucien Freud, Francis Bacon and David
Hockney all produced good discussion with many questions.
The work involved by all concerned is greatly appreciated by all
members of the Group.
Meetings are held at West Chiltington
Church Hall at 2 p.m. on the second Tuesday in the month. New
members are always welcome.
