EVERYONE WELCOME - Beginners,

NATURAL HISTORY (Walks)
Please note
that all walks will start at 10.30 Most walks will be easy
walking, but stout walking shoes and waterproofs are advised . We
usually take picnic lunches but some prefer local hostelries when
handy.
The weather has caught up with us this autumn!! The
October trip to Pagham Harbour had to be cancelled and the November
visit to the RSPB Pulborough Brooks was very much of a damp squib.
However, five of us paddled down to the first hide to look for
ducks - with so much water they were mostly far away but we could
pick up the large numbers of wigeon and teal as well as well as the
elegant pintails. A pair of shoveller swept the surface of a pool
only fifty yards away which allowed very good views of the smart
drake. We also picked up the resident female peregrine in a willow
tree. Back to the restaurant for a very welcome bowl of soup!
Friday 23rd March

wheatears should be arriving by now - weather permitting of course.!
